Cloud Storage Services

1. Eligibility

a. Google: All UP Mail users have access to the Google Workspace for Education Storage.

b. Microsoft Office 365: Students, faculty and REPS, administrative staff, and offices/units of the university are eligible to access the cloud storage service, OneDrive, and other authorized Microsoft applications through their Office 365 account.

2. Storage Limit

a. Google: Due to a price increase, the UP Mail storage allocation will downsize by June 2023. This is part of Google’s new policy.

The recommended allocations will be based on the average storage use of active users.

b. Microsoft Office 365: Each Office 365 account has an email storage of 50 GB and OneDrive storage of 1 TB. Users may refer to this link for more information: https://itdc.up.edu.ph/services/software-services/microsoft-office-365-for-up

3. Compliance

The storage provided by the UP Mail and Office 365 account is for educational and work purposes only. Users are prohibited from storing personal files, movies, music, or any other non-educational materials.

Users are expected to comply with this policy at all times. Violation of any of the above rules may result in the suspension or termination of the user’s account, and/or disciplinary action according to the UP System’s policies and procedures.
